This week’s astrology gives us a little something to reconsider. With Venus retrograde in Scorpio (Oct 3-Nov 13) and a New Moon in Libra on October 10, our reflective theme is desire, self-worth, and the difference between genuine harmony and keeping everybody happy while quietly annoying the shit out of ourselves. 😂
Consider this an invitation to notice what you value now, not just what you’ve always wanted, tolerated, or thought you should want. Where are you saying “it’s fine” when it isn’t? And where have you decided wanting more makes you difficult, selfish, or ungrateful?
You don’t need to overhaul your life this week. Start by admitting one thing you want without immediately explaining why you deserve to want it.
A little grounding before the woo: astrology, numerology, and Human Design are symbolic reflection tools here, not scientifically established predictions. The dates are checked; the life lessons are invitations to explore.
In this October 2026 astrology forecast, we begin with Venus, which stationed retrograde in Scorpio on October 3 and remains retrograde throughout this week. In astrology, Venus represents love, pleasure, beauty, money, and values. Scorpio adds themes of intimacy, trust, power, and what lives beneath the polite answer.
Together, those symbols give us a useful question: Is this still valuable to me, or have I simply become used to it?
Maybe you want more money, but the version of success you’ve been chasing would require a life you don’t actually want. Maybe you love your partner and still need your shared responsibilities to change. Maybe you adore your child and miss having time when nobody is touching you or requesting a snack.
Love and dissatisfaction can exist in the same room. They do not automatically cancel each other out.
And maybe you’ve called yourself “low maintenance” for years when what you meant was, “I became very good at having needs privately.”
Oof. That one can sit with us for a minute.
This isn’t a cosmic order to end a relationship, revive an ex, or ban every purchase. Use the retrograde symbolism to review an arrangement before making your next choice. Start with the thing you keep insisting is fine while feeling irritated about it every Tuesday.
Mercury entered Scorpio on September 30, so this influence is already underway. Mercury is not retrograde this week; its next retrograde begins October 24.
Astrologically, Mercury in Scorpio is associated with probing questions and deeper conversations. Our practical translation: get specific about what is bothering you.
“Nobody helps me” might contain a request you haven’t made clearly: “I need you to own dinner and cleanup on Tuesdays.”
“I feel disconnected” might become: “I miss spending time together without our phones.”
“I don’t know what I want” might actually mean: “I know, but I’m worried about how everyone will react.”
Those are different problems. They need different next steps.
You don’t have to turn every realization into a confrontation before dinner. Try writing one sentence first: What I keep saying is _____. What I actually mean is _____.
Honesty can be direct without being cruel. You can name your experience, make a request, and leave room for the other person to answer.
The New Moon in Libra arrives on Saturday, October 10, at 11:50 a.m. EDT. Libra’s traditional themes include relationships, reciprocity, fairness, and cooperation; new moons are used in astrology as moments for setting intentions. Wonderful. We love harmony.
But an arrangement that works only because you swallow every preference is a very pleasant-looking pile of resentment wearing matching throw pillows. Real harmony includes you.
That might mean admitting you want a career change even though everyone thinks your current job is perfect. Asking for a date that someone else plans. Agreeing with your partner on a protected hour for your own work, while considering both people’s capacity.
You can be a loving woman, partner, and mother with preferences. Your personality did not expire when you became useful to other people.
Because Libra’s ruling planet, Venus, is retrograde, I’m reading this New Moon as a chance to revise an existing agreement rather than demand a shiny new life by Monday.
Ask: What would make this feel fairer, and what is one change we could realistically try?
Let’s show the math; it’s not a method.
Using a common calendar-based numerology approach:
There isn’t one universally agreed calculation for a “Universal Week.” I’m using Monday’s day number as an opening reflection point, not calling the whole week a seven. These are collective calendar numbers, not your personal numerology.
In this tradition, 1 symbolizes beginnings and independence; 11/2 suggests insight, sensitivity, and partnership; 7 invites introspection; and 3 emphasizes expression and creativity. Methods that reduce master numbers would call October a 2 month.
Our reflection for the week: give yourself space to notice what matters, then find words for it. You don’t need to poll the entire group chat before admitting you have a preference.
The Sun begins the week in Gate 48, commonly associated with depth, and moves into Gate 57, associated with intuitive clarity, on October 8 at approximately 5:31 a.m. EDT (09:31 UTC). The opposing Earth gates are 21 and then 51.
Using these gate themes as reflection prompts, Gate 48 asks us to consider our resources and our fear of inadequacy. When does preparation help? When does it become a very stylish hiding place?
One more course. One more spreadsheet. One more sign that you’re allowed to begin.
Sound familiar? Our five-minute approach to overthinking offers a small way to move without demanding total certainty.
As the Sun shifts into Gate 57, try observing your immediate reactions before you explain them away. That doesn’t mean every strong feeling is reliable intuition. Fear, excitement, fatigue, and habit can all feel persuasive. You don’t have to diagnose the feeling or act on it instantly.
Within Human Design, follow your own Strategy and Authority rather than treating a transit as a decision rule. If you don’t know your chart, use the journal question alone: What do I notice when I pause long enough to hear myself?
Green lights: reviewing a commitment, asking for specific support, revisiting what you enjoy, and trying one manageable change.
Red lights: expecting people to read your mind, turning every feeling into a verdict, collecting advice to avoid choosing, or declaring a full life overhaul because you had one powerful shower thought.
The useful move is small enough to happen in real life:
Wanting something doesn’t guarantee you can have it immediately. It does give you better information for your next decision.
On or around October 10, take five to ten minutes with a notebook or your phone’s notes app. Candle optional. Sitting in the parked car where nobody can ask you for a snack? Entirely acceptable.
Write three headings: What I value now. What isn’t working. What I want next.
Let your answers be a little inconvenient. Then choose one and ask: What is the smallest honest action that would honor this?
You can also ask what support or tradeoff that action needs. That keeps the ritual connected to your actual life instead of becoming another beautiful page you never revisit.
Your mantra: My needs belong in the conversation.
This week’s invitation is to stop editing your desires into something everyone else would find convenient.
You can want more help without being incapable. More space without loving somebody less. More money without apologizing for your ambition. More pleasure without turning it into a productivity hack.
You can also realize an old dream no longer fits. As we explore in The Beauty of the Breakdown, change can make room for a beginning you couldn’t see before.
For this week, admit one thing you want without immediately explaining why you’ve earned the right to want it.
No defense. No PowerPoint. No supporting statement from the group chat.
